autocad objects greyed out but not locked

autocad objects greyed out but not locked

I'm not a novice by any means but this has me stumped!!...been given a CAD file with some objects grey out, these objects are various linetypes and lines, all on different layers; they're not layer locked nor are they blocks all layer values are set to default so nothiong untowards there, i can edit them as per normal and when selected they appear as they should do with proper colour showing etc.

  1. I have found a workaround to our problem, not sure how it happened or why. FIX for greyed out linetypes: select all, explode/burst, mpedit, select all/previous, enter, Join, 0, enter, Ltype gen, ON, enter, enter. After the explosion, the color should appear as it does in the layer property manager. Ahhh, an accomplished feeling for today.
